A Steel-Tex® fire shutter tested to UL 10B for 1½ hours — including the hose stream test.
— APPLICATION
Openings in firewalls, fire barriers, and fire partitions. Y-axis deployment and retraction. The hose stream test is what separates UL 10B assemblies from smoke-only products.
— INSTALLED BACK TO BACK
Two systems, each with a 1½-hour fire protection rating, installed on opposing sides of the same opening in a fire wall are deemed equivalent in fire protection rating to one 3-hour system — Harmathy's Principle, per the IBC opening fire protection assemblies table. The CSI spec for the back-to-back configuration is in the downloads rail.
